Dear participants of the 2009 ICT Conference,

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you for joining the ICT Conference this year.

Some of you may have noted that on 11 June 2009 the World Health Organization has raised the swine flu alert to its highest level, phase 6, and declared the flu a pandemic. However, WHO continues to recommend no restriction on travel and on border closures. So when we continue to maintain vigilance and adopt strategies to minimize the harm from the swine flu, we see no reason for postponing or cancelling the conference. I am therefore informing you that the conference will be held as scheduled.

However, there is a change in the venue for the second day of the conference. St Paul¡¦s Convent School, the location originally scheduled to host the second day events, has been closed for sanitization for two week due to a few cases of swine flu in the school. We believe it is a good idea to change venue as the school will be busy with their end-of-term work when it re-opens. We have decided to hold the second day activities at the Open University of Hong Kong campus.

We look forward to seeing you at the ICT conference.

Best wishes,
